Is it really free?

Your first vessel costs nothing but the network gas to draw it on-chain. Additional vessels cost 0.001 ETH each, up to five per wallet.

When does it start cracking?

Aging begins in the Cracking phase. Fractures then accrue on a deterministic schedule tied to block height, the same for every vessel, fully verifiable.

Do I have to mend?

Never. A vessel can sit raw and cracked forever, that is its own kind of beauty. Mending is an invitation, not an obligation.

Where does the art live?

Entirely on Ethereum. The SVG is generated and stored by the contract, no IPFS, no image server, nothing that can disappear.
